Newham Neighbourhood Renewal Fund
There was two years left to achieve the major changes in Newham with £5.5m
from the central Government Neighbourhood Renewal Fund. This was not
a standing start, but there was no time to lose.
Pulling together the people who had been involved in putting the original bids together Martin Farrell quickly got things moving. Mental Health, infant mortality, teenage pregnancy, chronic illness, young people’s health were different areas all working towards improved well being for Newham residents.
After 15 months, in summer 2005, projects were all progressing under
their own steam and Martin’s project start up work was done
