Martin
Farrell
When in the late 1960s Martin volunteered to help a handcraft charity in South Africa and
to do church-based youth work in a rough estate in Manchester he wanted to make the world
a better place. That youthful vision is still what drives him but now he’s got a wiser
head on his shoulders. Nearly forty years of working in charities large and small and in
the public sector has taught him many lessons – some learnt the easy way, some not.
He has held senior positions in large (British Red Cross and Save the Children), small (Centre for Crime and Justice Studies) and middle size organisations (Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health) and has a broad range of experience of different professional areas including volunteering, community development, corporate social responsibility, young people, crime, mentoring, and refugees.
He started working independently in January 1999. Soon thereafter he came up with ‘get2thepoint’ as
a good way of describing what he’s good at and loves to do. Martin is involved in all
contracts in one way or another, and is an equal partner, sometimes leading sometimes supporting![]()
